Year Ahead 2020

Greetings for the New Year. A new year is a harbinger of new hopes, new expectations, new events & the prospect of new accomplishments.

Before we begin, let me mark the Major planetary events of 2020 which will set the undertone for any major event or phase that a native will experience during the year -  

1.    Saturn Pluto Conjunction -

This year is marked by the iconic & powerful conjunction of two ‘heavyweights’ of the solar system – Saturn & Pluto. This is a 33 - 38 year cycle (last conjunction was in 1982-83)

History tells us that during such conjunctions the world witnesses global events impacting the world at large. Some of the major events that have occurred during the recent conjunctions are –

·  1914 – Outbreak of World War 1 & ending of the British Empire’s dominance & emergence of USA as a global leader. 

·  1947 – Hiroshima & Nagasaki bombings & Beginning of the Cold War. Independence of India & Pakistan.

·  1982 – Beginning of Internet & social media.

·  2019-21 – The world is experiencing effects of a global slowdown with huge amounts of debt.

2.    Saturn entering Aquarius. However, Saturn will turn retrograde and slip back in Capricorn in July and will re-enter Aquarius only in late December.

3.    Jupiter entering Capricorn where it will be for the entire 2020. This movement may be positive for people with Aries, Taurus, Cancer, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn & Pisces rising signs and may prove a bit tough for Gemini, Leo & Aquarius rising signs.

Aries Rising –

The most energetic sign of the zodiac. You have been pounded by the passage of Pluto & Saturn in your 10^th house of Career & Profession for the past 2-3 years. This would have a major impact on your life as this house also pertains to our social status – how the world sees us. The passage of Saturn in Aquarius may ease out the issues considerably. You may get a position of authority in a social association or group. The great benefic Jupiter will pass through your 10^th house in 2020 creating ample opportunities for career growth. Taurus Rising –

The most cautious sign of the zodiac. Saturn enters your 10^th house heralding a 2 to 3 year period of hard work (without matching remuneration) in your career. If unmarried, this is the phase during which marriage can be expected. Jupiter entering your 9^th house gives you opportunities to enjoy nature. Take a break from your routine monotonous work and plan to go out. For the literary inclined, this year may bring in increased opportunities to pursue your talent. Libra Rising –

The peacemakers of the zodiac. With Jupiter entering your 4^th house there will be a shift from movement towards stability. Those planning to buy a house, 2020 may be the year to go for it. Renovations, real estate deals can be expected. With Saturn entering your 5^th house for the next 3 years, you may see increased responsibility towards children & parenting.
