Welcome to my monthly horoscope for the month of August as per 12 rising signs. This month features a Black Moon – a 2nd New Moon in a calendar month – a rare double header to push something new & untested, Jupiter – the planet of expansion & Mercury – ruler of communications going Direct again and Uranus turning retrograde. 

Note – This delineation is based on rising signs and not Sun or Moon signs as is commonly used. Moreover, the zodiac which I follow is Tropical and not Sidereal which is most commonly used in India. 

Aries rising – 
Expect some new beginnings in areas related to children, creative talents, entertainment & romantic affairs in short. Miscommunication related to family members & parents in particular may be cleared. 
Matters related to foreign travels, outdoor activities & higher education which were stuck up will start to move forward. Financial situation may deteriorate. 
Topics related to friends, alliances, social institutes will reach culmination.

The Astrology behind FaceApp.

Launched in January 2017, the app was initially designed to transform your face image using smiles, hair colour, glasses, beards & tattoos, etc. It became an instant hit but as other viral things soon died down a few days later.

Although an exact date of the launch is not available, but any date after 20^th may be chosen as Sun entered Aquarius – the sign of technology after exiting earthy Capricorn. I have taken 20^th and local noon time at Moscow and restricted my analysis to outer planets only.

At first glance I looked out for Uranus, the planet of technology & innovations. I found him in a tight opposition to Jupiter in Libra. Now, Libra is the sign of people & socializing & Jupiter is the significator of expansion. How apt that an app used for socializing using technology being released during this period..!!

Since its inception, the app has been subjected to controversy regarding its privacy issues. Neptune, the planet of illusion and deception is in conjunction with Ketu - another planet of illusion & deception as per Hindu tradition.

In the past few days, the app has gone viral again thanks to a feature that allows a user to edit a person’s face to appear it younger or older. Uranus has moved in an exact trine to natal Mercury-the primary planet of communication & technology. A lunar eclipse on its natal Pluto also accentuated its fame.   

In the coming days, Uranus will remain in trine to Mercury and the app is bound to attract its share of controversy. In the coming years, as Pluto moves in Aquarius, there will be radical leaps in technology and apps such as FaceApp are bound to be in focus – Love or Hate them.
